How ZeroTek started
Peter Sandiford founded Level Platforms in 2003. It became one of the leading RMM platforms globally, grew to over 7,000 MSP partners, and was acquired in 2013. After the exit, having spent over a decade building tools for the channel, his mind turned to a question most forward-looking MSPs were asking: as IT moves to cloud and SaaS, what does the MSP's role become?
The answer was identity. In a world where every employee accesses dozens of SaaS apps from any device, the most important thing an MSP controls is who has access to what. Peter recruited Neil Arsenault, who had spent a decade at Level Platforms in increasingly senior roles across systems engineering, support, and cloud development. They founded ZeroTek in October 2015.
The company initially built on Microsoft Azure Active Directory. By 2016, they'd concluded it wasn't the right foundation: the APIs were immature, multi-tenant management was limited, and partner enablement was an afterthought. They evaluated every major IAM platform identified by Gartner and Forrester. Okta was the clear leader in technology, market position, and platform openness—but its go-to-market was built for enterprise direct sales, not the channel.
What followed was an intensive period of building a strategic partnership that gave ZeroTek the ability to incorporate Okta’s technology on month-to-month consumption terms. ZeroTek then built the multi-tenant management layer that Okta didn't have.

What ZeroTek does
ZeroTek is a multi-tenant identity management and billing platform that enables MSPs to resell, deploy, and manage Okta's enterprise-grade IAM for their clients. We have the relationship with Okta; MSPs buy through us on month-to-month, per-user terms with exclusive pricing and no annual contracts. MSPs manage every client's Okta environment from our purpose-built console. We handle licensing, billing automation, and MSP-centric support.
Our clients are MSPs of every size; typically mid-sized firms with 40 to 150 employees. We currently work with hundreds of MSP partners across North America and around the world.

What makes ZeroTek different
We serve MSPs exclusively. Our platform, pricing, support, training, and professional services are built around how MSPs work. We don't have an enterprise sales team selling to large corporations on the side. MSP identity operations are the only thing we do.
Our business model is aligned with our partners. Month-to-month billing means there are no annual commitments to pressure MSPs into purchasing more than they need. If a client churns, the billing stops. Our incentives match yours.
Our team holds more Okta certifications per employee than you’d find in most tech integrators in the channel, including Certified Professional, Certified Administrator, Certified Consultant, Certified Developer, plus Okta for AI, and Workflows Specialty certifications. When our partners have questions, they're answered by people with deep Okta expertise and direct MSP operations experience.
We respond to feedback in weeks, not years. When MSPs told us they needed ConnectWise billing integration, we built it. When partners requested ZeroConfig for standardized deployments, we built it.
